Q. What are the system requirements to be able to watch video?
A. Our Flash Player is optimised to play on all the most popular browsers for both PC and Mac, but in particular Firefox 1.5+ and Internet Explorer 6+.
Q. Can I watch videos without a broadband connection?
A. The minimum connection speed for satisfactory video streaming is ADSL 256 Kps. Lower connection speeds, such as dial-up, may result in staggered video playback.
Q. How is the video being streamed to my computer?
A. We deliver video via our video streaming servers which means that you don’t have to wait for the video to download completely from the server and that you can skip to any part of the video you like. The video data is temporarily stored on your computer’s memory and retrieved only when it’s needed. These videos cannot be saved or stored on your computer.
Q. HOW DO I CONTROL THE PLAYER?
A. The video player has many of the same controls and features you would find on a standard media player application. All videos will automatically start once you have clicked on either the title or the image. Here is a brief description of some of the key functions:
These buttons can be found below the video screen on the left of the control bar. The Play and Pause button interchange depending on which one is pressed.
You can adjust the volume by placing your mouse over the volume button on the right of the control bar. Mouse up and down the scale to measure the percentage and click to make a selection.
You can skip to any part of the video by moving your mouse along the control bar from left to right. A bubble displays the time stamp of where you are and you can make a selection by clicking your left mouse button. Please note that for on-demand streamed videos you can move forward only as far as the download is progressing. You can check the status of the download by looking at the diagonally striped bar move from left to right ahead of the blue line.
You can watch all the videos in full screen by clicking once on the video screen itself. To go back to its original state hit the ‘Esc’ button on your keyboard.
You can adjust the stream for your Internet connection by clicking the ‘Preferences’ tab at the bottom of the video player and selecting your preferred speed.
